Verse One, Line One-

“Working in the shadows, late one night;

A man came upon me that wasn’t quite right,

He walked up to me, and without even knowing;

He struck atop my head, and blood started flowing

I bled into my own eyes, and I was out;

And the last thing I heard was his maniacal chuckling

“The next thing I knew, I woke up renewed;

But my head was spinning, in a noxious stew,

And as my vision cleared, I saw a silhouette;

But I saw him in strange make-up and a hat,

He said, ‘Welcome to the circus, young man;

We have so much entertainment at hand’

“He took me up onto his shoulders,

And took me to the center ring;

I tried to clear my head, but I still couldn’t think

He threw me in without much effort,

I clawed the ground, and yelled for help;

But the show was just starting as I looked up

“A wicked man had appeared before me,

Announcing that this was the best show in the circus showing;

He wore a whip and a coat with tails,

While the wicked clowns held boards with nails

I arose, naked and dirty, and screamed at them with weak authority

“He turned and gazed right at me,

And said, ‘Everything’s alright, sonny

It’s time to meet your fate,

At the hands of brutal hate’

And with a slow, meandering smile;

He pointed at his rank and file

‘Attack!!! The show must go on…’

(Massive sonic attack – screeching highs, thundering lows, and a few sound effects)

“Beating their slats against my chest,

They bled me there upon my back

They laid me out with nails to my skull,

A hollow hit deep and full

My legs and arms were pulled right off,

But they wouldn’t stop their attack

“I woke up in a cold, sweat pool

And laughed at how I’d been a fool

It was all a dream, it wasn’t real

But while it was, I could feel….the pain

Now it’s my turn to do the same

To someone who deserves it…
