alixe alive inside of a clockwork wonderland…
‘Do you Here me?’ the rabbit said. The fascists had surrounded them all with their weapons of war as an art of domination drawn and aching to fight, but the delight of the moment was in that secret space where Alixe and the rabbit sat discussing the currency of this scenario playing out before them both in a simple uncomplicated way. ‘Where are we and why these agents of the general law now, sir rabbit?’ Alixe was anxious to understand what the shadows outside the door and windows wanted, and why a world like this seemed so dark and uncompromising in its execution of the details, that there were not one aspect to rationalize or quantify this experience left this child upset and feeling defeated when as certain as the emotions felt it was true that they were not tangible proof of how this place worked. The frightening was moving closer in their direction as though a storm of massive proportions undulating a shivering thunderous cloud at a time, trying to scare these two from out of their hiding place in betwixt the spaces gathered as bricks in a wall diffusing the assault of these dark-eyed hooligans wailing and throbbing for violence, but were held back by the confusion of unseen targets even though they were all just meters away from the child and the rabbit. Alixe asked the rabbit what it was that made them a vague threat to these soldiers of misfortune drugged and dragged to the ends of this land into hunting both like this, each brute of them a fiendish corollary to the urge to rip apart the form of another minus the attention to how this feels to the victim whose screams go unnoticed once their particular quarry is acquired, but the rabbit had no other reply than to say in watery waves of psychic impressions as sent directly to Alixe’s mind in as simple an answer as it could muster. The shrunken skull with empty eyes save for a dirty monocle with a small chain hanging loose placed before the right socket underneath a dusty old top hat where the scruffy ears sprouted out almost like shabby tentacles or stalks should be shaking dust into the odd breeze, the chain floated down into the darkness where a body should have been though suspended only as a head at the bottom of which two gigantic buckteeth looking slightly irregular and jagged held a long thin cigarette holder with an ember burning brightly and smoke gently wafting up out of the end, but there was nothing to fear from this dead rabbit or it’s companions as so revealed through the ethers to which they hid from the inhuman mob manifesting doom outside. Alixe wanted so badly to see what tumult was outside steadily marching through the turgid rainy square, in a frenzied ruckus Alixe told the rabbit that there was something far more ominous than those soldiers, and that if they were not careful enough that it would eventually consume them as another rare treat.
